Biography

Sophie grew up in the South East of SA but decided to start her Physio career working in public health in Queensland.  After 2 years of the beach, she then travelled around Europe and working in the UK for 2 years.
On returning to Adelaide in 2012, she worked in Private practice before discovering her passion for rehabilitation with Pilates. Sophie enjoys using her musculoskeletal knowledge and DMA Pilates qualification to help you become stronger and happier in your body.

Biography

Rikki Turner is one of our Physiotherapists, graduated from the University of South Australia with a Master of physiotherapy degree in 2009 and a Bachelor of Human Movement in 2005. Rikki is a current APA member and in the APA Women’s Health group. Rikki has experience in musculoskeletal therapy, manipulation, dry needling and rehabilitation Pilates. She has gained the experience of working in residential aged care facilities, hospital post operative in upper limb orthopedics and gynecology procedures, hydrotherapy and private practice. Rikki is a passionate team leader who has worked at various other clinics which specialized in Pilates, women’s health, sports injury management and upper limb physiotherapy.
Rikki is a retired elite netballer due to injury she has great passion as a physiotherapist in her work and duty of care. It was her own sporting injuries that lead her to her passion in Pilates rehabilitation and qualification in Physiotherapy and Pilates. Rikki’s other daily interests include her family and friends, being a mother, eating clean and keeping fit practicing Pilates, Yoga and gym.

Biography

Fiona started teaching Pilates in 2011. Personally she started pilates herself to reduce constant tension headaches and reliance on chiropractors for relief. She felt benefits immediately and felt empowered. She is also a massage therapist and find the pilates helps her clients manage their own pain better. Goldy have always loved dancing, and in 2013, she started belly dancing. She realised that the core is fundamental in belly dancing to prevent injury and to protect the body. Also, with belly dancing, she learnt how to isolate and use muscles that had never been utilised often enough. She began looking up ways to strengthen my core as well as to improve flexibility and found Pilates. Goldy thinks that belly dancing and Pilates complements each other so well!

She started Pilates in 2014, doing both reformer and matwork/small apparatus and  started the Pilates Matwork course as she would like to help others to improve body awareness and posture as well as to enjoy the benefits of Pilates.

Biography

Alexandra is a qualified Pilates instructor, qualifying in 2011. Alexandra is also a choreographer and Independent Dance Artist. Alexandra loves the tailoring and structure that pilates brings to each unique client and the results one sees from doing pilates regularly over time. Her focus is to draw her clients in to slow down and focus on their own body to deconstruct physical habits and better their overall bodies health and well being. Alexandra recently worked for Independent choreographer Lina Limosani in ” A Delicate Situation” which premiered at the Adelaide Festival Centre in June of 2014.

Biography

Leanne embraced Pilates after having her two children to gain flexibility and strength first as a participant then soon after as an instructor teaching mat and equipment classes. Leanne is fully qualified with Certificate 1V through Polestar Pilates which provides the most comprehensive Pilates rehabilitation and fitness curriculum and certification in the world today. Before Pilates became a weekly fitness regime for Leanne she was also involved in running, bike riding and swimming for fitness. Today she enjoys Pilates, bike riding, bush walking and camping. Leanne has been teaching Pilates for the past 9 years and brings her passion, energy and knowledge into her classes for both mat and equipment with the aim each person feels the benefits individually.

Biography

Jo completed her certificate 3 & 4 in Personal Training at the Australia Institute of Fitness before moving to London in 2006. Whilst living in London she started working for a small private studio as a PT. The owner of the studio, Jonathan Goodair, had a strong passion for Pilates and taught Jo how to incorporate Pilates into each of her PT sessions. This where Jo’s love of Pilates began! Returning back home to Australia she decide to pursue her passion for Pilates and enrolled with Polestar Pilates to complete her Certificate 4 in Comprehensive Mat Work. In February 2015 Jo joined Physique Pilates where she worked closely with the team to further develop her skills. Jo has now completed her studies and is looking forward to helping improve people’s total body health by using her Personal Training skills and apply traditional Pilates methods.

Biography

Kate started pilates over 12 years ago as a result of continued back pain and has been teaching for over 7 years. She fell in love with the method due to the results she achieved and believed in it so much that she wanted to immerse herself further by becoming a teacher she is qualified to teach in both Mat and Studio. Her qualifications include a Polestar Diploma of Pilates, Cert III in Fitness, Senior First Aid Certificate and a Bachelor of International Business. She is a mother to 3 children and enjoys horseriding and playing Netball. She has taught a wide range of clients including specialised classes to Ballet Dancers, Gymnasts and Seniors.
